| | Hey everyone, At our centre we're looking at getting either DeepFreeze or ProtectOn for our computers, for the obvious protection that they provide. I would like to hear some feedback, if possible, on both products, on how easy it is to implement and work with SmartLaunch. Thanks ^^

| I've seen posts about these and looked into it. What is the real purpose behind it? Just so you can revert the system back to the default? Seems like a waste of money to me... The few minor things the users can actually change I have scripts to clean up, and if they get to far, I reimage. Reimaging is a semi-monthly event for us with patches, new games, new changes, etc. So what is the real purpose that I'm missing from this? Is there another purpose that I just don't see?

| The reason to use software such as DeepFreeze is full protection on the system against anything. This includes viruses, spyware, malware, and any user interaction. Instead of getting protection against all of these things in different forms, you can just get one program that reverts the computer to what it was like when it started up initially. People can even delete integral Windows files (ones that are required to run Windows), and on a restart, they are restored and the computer is working without any problems.

| Correct. You can reduce time and money you spend. For example you dont even need to buy an antivirus software. System will stay integral 100% whatever user action will be.

| Just another quick question, how does DeepFreeze affect computer performance. Does it affect startup time or anything?

| Does anyone know if they've resolved the issue with nForce-based mobos? I remember trying it out a few months back only to find out that all my problems were based on some glitch with this type of motherboard. Essentially, DF reboots during installation and the system is now crapped out.
Cheers!

Sadly, in my excitement, I downloaded a fresh eval copy of DF Enterprise. And yup. It's still not working with my nForce mobos. That means, there's no way to uninstall it, and yes, it's now constantly rebooting. GG.
Just letting everyone know that this issue exists. If you're going to try DF Ent (current version 6.00.221.1523), it doesn't seem to work with nForce (as many forums seem to attest). The last reference I found to the incompatibility dates back to last year... but I guess they haven't fixed that bug yet.
Cheers!
