beandorine (10-03-2010) Hi, we have 10 Gaming pcs with SL 4.X.x on them, were trying to install AvP onto 4 of them (PC1, PC2, PC3, PC4)
We have Steam Cafe accounts
AvP Requires Steam to run, so we were wondering...
You should create new steam accounts for your AvP. Like Cafeavp01 / Cafeavp02 etc. Use your keys for these accounts, and set them up in SL. It doesn't matter that you already have a bunch of steam for cafes set up, you can create a new license batch with steam. They will have the same name, but you can open the SL database and rename afterwards. Without going into detail I think you should be able to find more info about creating new steam accounts like this in the forum for other games using the same method. Just a heads up about this game btw. I installed and updated one, then copied the common/aliens vs predator folder along with the gcf/ncf's to the remaining computers. They seem to run fine the 1st time it's run, but after that they will drop from game as soon as it's done loading a map/mission. Just like we saw with l4d2. I tried doing a verify integrity, and low and behold. Avp.exe and avp_dx11.exe couldn't validate and where reaquired (window says just 1 file, but log shows both files) The validation took ages, but fingers crossed should only be necessary once. Save games seem to go to documents and settings/user/local settings/application data/aliensvspredator In that folder it seems to create a long name like 2452362534 for each account and put files accordingly. Trying to figure out if I should junction these folders so that the users savegames aren't dependant on the actual avp license it starts with. The above isn't 100%, I'm still testing. Will edit info if I end up discovering changes/updates.
