Hi Im new to this forum, Im having trouble creating a batch file (Im new to this to) for bad company 2

I have created 6 accounts and saved every GameSettings.bin as GameSettings1.bin GameSettings2.bin ect. to the server.

Im guessing that the batch file should be saved at the server

this is how I wrote it, and it works but just for one and same account sending over to the clients

@echo off
cls
title BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY LICENS /!\ SN 2010 /!\ DONT CLOSE THIS BOX
copy "\\server\Lic\gebf2\Gamesettings1.bin" "C:\Users\account\Documents\BFBC2\Gamesetting.bin" /y
cls
exit

How do make it cycle throu GameSettings1.bin to GameSettings6.bin

I have tryied adding % betwen GameSettings and 1 but the batch file wont copy over any files.

Can anyone clear this thing up for me?

Thanks in advance

I Figured out I got it working now.

Hello,

How did you get the license distribution to work. I have the same setup but the server keeps sending the same "GameSettings1" file to every computer. Can someone please help me with the key distribution part?

Thx

@J0tt0, you got me pointed in the right direction and I have BFBC2 automatic profile logins working well now.

On another note, the licenses are not making themselves unavailable from the license pool and are not showing as in use by the Smartlaunch administrator. So when the next person comes along it will try to pull a license that is already in use.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Smartlaunch licensing?

you should check if Smartlaunch is tracking the process.

That option can be configured in the application options. If you don't enter a or some exe in there which SL should wait for, then SL assumes the application was terminated right after it started and therefore the license is available again.

hey there,

i fixed it, it is running very well here.

just install the game like you normally do and make sure it is running under Windows without SL.

then you have to setup 2 license managements in sl. one for the key and one for the userlogin.

1st the key setup: setup a license for registry. The location is: Hkey_local_machine\Software\electronic arts\electronic arts\battlefield bad company 2\ergc\
Enter the keys without the dashes "-" e.g. 123jkohsdf723234dd

2nd the login. This one is a bit more tricky.
1. take a coffee (or 2, depending on the amount of licenses you have) and use a pc in windows mode for that.
2. launch Bad company 2, go to the server browser and log a user in. Hit the chekcbox to save the password.
3. quit the game and copy the file \myfiles\bfbc2\gamesettings.bin to a public server folder.
4. rename the copied file to gamesettings.1 (the login data is stored in that file)
5. repeat steps 2 to 4 for every license you have and increase the number in the file-extension. eg. gamesettings.3 .4 and so on.
6. create a batch file bfbc2lic.bat and copy that to every single machine: (eg. c:\program files\smartlaunch\bfbc2.lic)
----------
@echo off
copy \\serverdrive\gamesettings.%1 %myfiles%\bfbc2\gamesettings.bin
----------
You have to adjust the path for the serverdrive and the "%myfiles%" in that line.

7. create a license setup with an executable file. The file is: \path on comuter\bfbc2.lic where you copied that file before.

8. in the license part you enter 1 and 2 and 3 and so on up to the number of licenses you have.

9.In the game settings for Bad Company 2 you can enter both license setups by checking "use multiple licenes" on.

Done.

When you launch BFBC2 now, a key will be written to the registry and the file with login-information will be copied to the computer. In the end, the customer only has to click "login" to play.

Note: when a customer starts bfbc2 for the first time, there is no target folder to copy the gamesettings.bin. This folder is generated by bfbc2, just quit the game and restart it and the license management is working from now on.

I hope this is not written too bad...

you can bring the BFBC2 folder as puf (it includes ini files with settings for gfx etc, so its helpful to be saved anyway) and you wont have to launch it twice...

Complete Novice here,

I'm actually unable to locate the Smartlaunch Game ID necessary to input Battlefield Bad Company 2 into the Administrator.

Complete novice, I'm well aware.

But if anybody could provide me with the game id necessary to plug it in. Would be greatly appreciate it!

Just another noobie

You should not be moving the key for this game as the key is tied to the login.  Not only is there no need but if you use the online activation sooner or later it is going to cause you problems.  Moving the bin file is all you have to do.

I have a limited amount of keys, thats why im using the license management to move the Keys.

I never activated a computer with a key, i just install the game on 1 pc, extract the registry and copy all the files.

BFBC2 is not checking if the account and the computer are using the same key. It is checking if the key is already in use by another computer. Thats it.
