| | I finally got past the steam errors for mw2 and went to put the licenses in to Smartlaunch. I can't set it up as a steam game because it's not part of the cafe license. I tried creating a new license pool but it seems to start steam twice, popping up errors about steam already running, then it sits at the game list instead of launching the game. Here is how I tried to set it up: Added a new game: mw2, executable set to steam.exe, no command line options Created license type executable, set to steam.exe, command line options "-login %license% -silent --applaunch 10190" I can see where having steam.exe set in two places is causing it to start twice but does anyone have a workaround? I'm not going to buy a copy of this game for every computer, I want SL to manage the licenses. |

What would the account not being a Cafe account have to do with being able to use the SL LM tool? SL dosen't care if the account is a Cafe account or not, it works the same way.
If you set a license as steam, it removes the option to name it. Then when you have to choose the license for the game there are multiple "steam" licenses with no way to know which one to pick.
It also makes the sl admin crash if you try to look at the license status with multiple steam licenses in effect. |

| you can open the sl db, licence setup table, and change the name of the other steam license managements...

It's not a bug, but rather a feature. I asked the SL guys a couple years back about this issue, and they told me that running any games that require Steam is against the Steam Cafe rules and paramount to piracy, thus they will in no way assist me. |

| | OK. Steam got a major update. I can not get call of duty modern warfare to autostart. I get the steam main page with all my games. The client has to choose modern warfare 2 multy for example in order to play the game. It does not start automaticaly. Anyone has a way around that? i think its the new steam and the way its built... |

| | OK. Another problem. I am runnign steam with private accounts (modern warfare 2 was not under cafe licence). Since a couple of days i got 3 accounts banned. I get from the game console a message that says cheat detected. The problem is that on 2 accounts i got this message during a game on an official server. There is no way there is a cheat instaled. I have emailed them and i am waiting for an answer. is it possible for steam to see that i am a cafe and ban my accounts? Anyone else has that? |

Technically true and false at the same time. True because Cafe's aren't allowed to use Valve games outside of the CyberCafe program, but false now, due to the amount of other Publishers utilising Steam for their Games (MW2, AVP, Borderlands, DoW2, etc.. etc..) Because of the 2nd bit, SL should really re-think their position on this one, but bearing in mind how quickly this normally happens, it'll probably be 2020 before any decision gets made. Just my 2p's worth. |

| | Valve is already providing support for non valve games over Steam to cafes. They will unban your accounts if you give them the info. They will monitor all your accounts for you if you give them a list of all your account names. |
