Guys,

The Smartlaunch (4.1) license manager cannot extract my licenses for Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne. It worked flawless with Reign of Chaos but doesn't work with FT.

I installed the game on 10 different computers. I did not mess around with any key changer what so ever.... just real clean installations.

This error comes up:

Log from PC34 (v4.1.351.0): Error in ExtractLicense (GetKey): System.Exception: Could not find install path from registry:

I've checked the registry and the location has perfectly fine registry entries.

Would the problem be the two '\\' in the path that Smartlaunch is reporting?

The bad thing is that we are hosting the preliminaries for the World Cyber Games Competition next Sunday.... I need this game to work without any cracks etc....

Help please!

WoW... well it appears that Smartlaunch has some hardcoded faulty paths in it's license management app.

Solution was to create what smartlaunch asked for.

Smartlaunch asks for a "InstallPathX" string key to be present to read the install directory from.
funny thing is taht warcraft these days has no such key. The correct key is known as "InstallPath"

I just created a registry key with InstallpathX and gave it the same info that the InstallPath key had... Problem solved

the building in warcraft 3 and ft licens management wont work on x64 bit os , so if your running the x64 bit os (windows xp x64 / vista x64 / windows 7 x64) , the keychanger will make more errors then do the keychange.

so go back to the old startcraft / warcraft III method of injekting the key into it , and it will work as normal again.

SN

does alot of work around the cafes =)
