| Hi everybody,
I'm always facinated by our customers as they always find a way to their needs...
Today i've stopped near a customer, who downloaded and installed itunes on his computer...
As you know, itunes IS crap software and it also install a lot of things..
So i'm would like to know:
- How it is possible to avoid any user to download anything on the desktop ?
- How to avoid the installation of anything on any of our computers ?
Of course, i went thru the security panel in the server configuration, to avoid the use of itunes.exe and the itunes installer..
But i can't avoid ALL types of .exe
Any ideas ??
Thanks in advance, |

| Actually you can use a limited windows accounts for clients.
They will never be able to install any software.

| I'm sorry. Limit the windows account won't be a good decision.
I already tested it. It will prevent SL from editing the registry and that will make SL crash at starting up.
Please,, DON'T DO IT

I think that won't solve the issue 'cause you are not be able to filter each single application.
I'm thinking about some registry editing to prevent Installing process.
Or you can filter the windows installer, which all installation depend on it. I'm not sure about this info. |

Have you checked out SL's "SmartLaunch Explorer", AKA SmartIE? It's a massive filter that blocks downloads, accessible drives and more. Download it HERE
