Extended Support for Power Controllers

We are working on supporting the Power Controller called PLC BUS.

Contrary to the Insteon Controller this one will work outside the US and Canada.
At some point in the near future we will release a beta update with the new support.

Website and authorization server down

Hi all,

As you might have noticed our website and authorization server is down at the moment. Why that is, we're not sure, but the fault lies host side and unfortunately our host is unavailable for support until Tuesday because of the Easter Holiday keeping everything closed here in Denmark.

Obviously this is completely unacceptable and we will be changing hosts because of this, but until Tuesday our hands are sadly tied :(

In the meantime however you should still be able to run Smartlaunch with all your licenses intact. All you need to do is click on "Continue trial" when you start up the server and it says you have x days to authorize or you will revert to 3 licenses.

Design Contest

We want a new default skin for version 5, and we want to give you the opportunity to help us decide how it's going to look.

The winner will be able to choose between 50 Smartlaunch licenses or a cash prize of $1,000.

Phones are down

Hi.

I just wanted to let you all know, that our phone-provider has made a dodo and somehow accidentally cancelled our contract.

This means that our phone-number in Denmark: +45 8888 7800 (And all local extensions on that number) is down for the time being.

We are working hard on getting the contract and the phones back up, and will let you know when a resolution has been found.

I just stumpled upon a great online service that I wanted to try out on you, the Smartlaunch community.

The service is Uservoice.com, which is a user sugestion service, that let’s users send their ideas to developers of software solutions, but what makes this different from a forum or simmilar, is that you have 10 votes associated with your account.

Whenever you suggest something, it costs one of your votes. But you can also use your votes on other users suggestions. However 10 votes is all you get, so once you have spent the vote on a suggestion, you won’t get that vote back until you either decide to change your vote, or the feature suggested is implemented by us.

This makes it a great tool, as it allows everyone to be heard, not only the ones who are able to yell the loudest on the forums ;)

But go ahead, give it a try. Suggest something and cast your votes, and we’ll listen :)

New Developer Blog

Forum Upgraded

Hi.

I just wanted to apologize for the downtime that the forum had today.
We were upgrading it to a new version and something went wrong with the database.
We had to roll back the database to a backup from 5 am this morning (GMT+2).
So any posts created between then and the posting of this announcement has been lost.

But the forum is now upgraded, and we are hoping that this might help some of the problems that had begun to occur when posting and navigating the forum.

Forum Restructure

As some of you may have noticed, the forum has been restructured a bit.
The reason for this is to show that we are now focusing more on support.
So we have moved all support-related forums to the top, and relocated some forums to a more logical location.
We have also added a new section for plugin and skin development.

We have also removed most of the local support forums.
This was a tough decission, but we felt that is was necessary.
The reason is that none of the current staff speak any other language than english and danish, so we wouldn't be able to offer any help in those forums.

All in all we hope that this restructure will be benefitial in the new support strategy, and we hope that you will enjoy the result.
