Black Ops isnt loading on 8 of my 10 comps after servers came back up

Having problems since the Black ops servers came back up..i have 10 comps installed with black ops on Seperate steam accounts, personal accounts...problem is now only 2 comps can play Black ops...the other comps load Steam then say..Servers are unavailable now...try back later on all my comps but 2...anyone know what i need to do to fix this problem...thanks....Ted Doupe...Cyberspace cafe Lompoc....805-819-0228, is our store number is someone can call or post would be greatly appreciated...805-868-2087 is my cell phone

I need some help regarding games for my new gaming centre.
Which games are most popular in your centre, and which games I must install?
If its possible tell me many titles because CS,WOW,WC3,SC i know people play the most almost everywhere. Im also having huge HDDs so the more the marrier.
Im interested in all - from simple flash games, free games, new heavy 3d games, multiplayer games, games for kids,adult games ..

I found some sites about a year back, selling games in bulk orders for net cafés, where it would include posters and all sorts of accessories to display at your café.

But after some google searching, I cant seem to find any of that kind of sites anymore.
So I was wondering where you guys bought games and accessories.

I have a strange situation.

After a full download of MW3, the folder size is approximatively 13.7 GB. I can launch the game in solo or multi mode.

When I change user, sometime's it will work great, and some other time, almost 6 GB disappears (from the mw3 folder in the steamapps\common folder) and then I have to download all over.

I finish the download, will work great... and then again, if I switch user, sometimes it will work at once, and sometime I need to download everything again.

This is happening on several freshly installed computers, all under Windows 7. Any ideas ?

OEM seems to be the cheapest, but am worried I cannot transfer license to other machines in future.
Retail is a bit expensive
What about Microsoft volume licensing? Would that work? Or that ends up costlier.

Modern Warfare 2 / Steam updates..

So lately there's been a lot of Steam and Modern Warfare 2 updates that have been released, and they're killing me going around to each computer and setting it up. I was wondering if there is another way of updating mw2/steam on all of our comps, how do you guys have it setup?

Im aware I can just copy the updated ncf/gcf's and the 'common/modern warfare 2' folder to all the comps but that seems to cause an error related to 'localization.txt' file

Is it possible to run it off a network drive or would that end up being way too slow?

Hi guys

Need some help with Counterstrike. It has been working perfectly up until last week, but now whenever someone tries to set up a server, the game crashes right after the Loading progress bar reaches "Loading Resources". The following error occurs :-

The insruction at "0x0f6e3e2c" referenced memory at "0x0d73a1a0". The memory could not be "read".

The game then crashes and returns to the Steam page.

Can anyone help?

problems installing COD black ops

Hi my boss and me was trying with no sucess to install call of duty black ops on a half dozen computers.
Like on some steam accounts we got to enter Cd-keys and stuff and it was installing the game from Disc and downloading updates from steam...
Then when computers restarted and all.
No trace of black ops in them steam accounts. Tried adding non steam game and when we tried starting the game steam goes to the steam store... and on some accopunts it said that we can't register keys on this account or something...
and we're totally noobs both of us on getting it installed in smart launch :P so far we managed to get it visible in the customers menu but nothin happens when we try to launch game from SL. :P

Black Ops

Hi i have 7 resisted license of Black OP'S i have used Licence management in SL the problem is when i launch BO it picks up the Steam account and logs in but only loads the Steam icon near the clock in the Tacsk bar. I can then go to store-games and launch BO.

Have i missed something as all my other Steam games are working /launching fine.

Steam not closing if you close the game

I have a limited license for steam. I have 30 computers but only have 10 steam licenses. My problem is if you stop playing a game in steam, steam doesnt get shutdown unless the user logs out.

Anyone here stopped using freeze for steam? there's always an update everyday and if I freeze the steam folder, my users end up redownloading them every PC reset. I feel bad for the players who can't their saved games cause I can't PUF it with all the userids getting stored (cyber cafe license).

Hopefully someone has already come across something similar to this and has a solution.

Modern Warfare 2 and Steam?

Hey guys,

This morning I got my hands on the cases with in there... Modern Warfare 2. I since then learned that the whole game actually runs through steam... that's oke with me as we have Steam Cyber Cafe accounts...

The only thing is that I cannot activate the game on our cafe steam accounts...
(After starting the setup.exe it wants me to log in and then gives me the message that I cannot register any new game with the Steam Cyber Cafe account...)

Has any of you have had better luck?

(1 thing I thought was that we maybe had to buy the game through Steam... but Steam cafe accounts cannot buy anything also...)

Crazy Network

Hi I hope someone can help me with me with an annoying issue that i have been trying to fix foe 3 days and nights. I re-imaged some hard drives and for some weird reason if I put the HDD in Computer 15 or 16 when I go to launch BFME2 it comes up with cannot locate DVD Rom. However if I put the same hard drive in any other PC it works fine. They have the same video cards I have tried re installing the Game and daemon tools but it still cannot locate the DVD Rom. I can manually mount the image and launch the game but not on 15 and 16. I can see the Image mounted on 15 and 16 but it still cannot locate it.

I hope this makes sense and someone can tell me what the hell is going on.

Company of Heroes wont launch through smartlaunch

ok so i have 2 pcs that i am testing company of heroes on, i have installed to the c drive as usual and added the two licenses/games to the smartlaunch server. what happens is you go to launch the game from smartlaunch on the client pcs and it uses the license and says that the game is launched and then it just goes straight back to the screen where you choose the game. the odd thing is tho when you exist smartlaunch and go onto the normal pc the game launches. its like smartlaunch is blocking it from launching or something?? please help

I am having a problem and was wonderin if any1 out there could help. I got the little eeebox machines, jus to add more pc;s to my cafe, but I can't seem to get the right click function working while smartlaunch is loaded - on the eeebox machines only. When I'm logged in as admin I can use the function - when its a guest user the function is unavailable. Is it anything to do with my security settings?

After I format all the clients I can't see the shared documents in server's "my network places" and also I cant see the server shared document in clients "my network places".
What's the problem and what can I do?

Dirt 2 & SecureROM

Trying to get Dirt 2 onto our Racing pods and I can't seem to get around the SecureROM check. Even tried no CD's and all were getting is the program using 100% cpu and never loading. Any suggestions or walk thru's would be helpful.

Hey guys, how do you all manage the game Heroes of Newerth and their updates?

Since its only in closed Beta at the moment there are a fair few updates that happen quite often and I was wondering if there's a better way to manage this game rather than going around to each pc and updating them ( i have about 80 computers, so you can imagine the headache :) )

Ive thought about a central server and just having the game run from there, but it wouldnt work - atleast not like warcraft 3 or world of warcraft :(

maybe some of you have the same problems then me. I bought Assassins Creed II, and perhaps you know that you can't play the game without beeing online and let the Launcher of Ubisoft online. The first problem i have: How should i manage the license of the different Accounts, i mean i have to log in automaticly IN the Launcher with an Account that is not i use.. i don't find a solution for this.. in future ubi soft is going to release every game with that launcher management, is it possible for you (the smartlaunch team) to find a solution for the license managemet of the ubi soft launcher, or maybe better let's say, do you even know of the problem and are you working on it? I see also Problems with Battle Net Accounts in the future for example Diablo III and some other games that will need to log in with your account after starting the game..

Steam 3rd Party Mods

Hey Guys,

Im having some problems getting 3rd Party Steam Games to launch with smartlaunch just wondering if anyone has worked out how to get the games to lauch through Smartluanch without giving the customer access to the steam window.

I have installed the 3rd party mods as per the instructions on Steams webpage and they work fine if I have my computer in Admin mod and run the game from the steam window the problem arises when I try to make a shortcut for the game in Smartlaunch. Does anybody know what the correct arguments should be to make it launch the game I know it used to be possible but since the recent steam changes I beleive it has stopped us from being able to make a direct shortcut to the game im sure this is because of the TTracker folder as the folder name changes everytime a person logs on with a different account.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Borderlands & Red Faction LAN Problems

First off, my store has no issues with most LAN games. However, these two games give us some problems.

Sometimes people don't have any trouble seeing one another's LAN games, but other times it just doesn't work. A customer will host a game and no one can see it, regardless of filters. This just doesn't happen with other popular LAN games.

Any ideas?

I am an employee of a cyber cafe in The Netherlands. My job is to install and manage our games. But im new in SL. Here is my question:

We bought 7 "COD6:Modern Warfare 2" games. But we got 9 pc's to play them. And i heard of someone that you can use a maximum of 7 logins for COD on SL. But i want to install them on 9 pc's, so for example my 9 pc's called: PC1, PC2, PC3 etc. And i installed the game from PC1 till PC7. And someone want to play COD6:MW on PC8, how will i install the game correctly on 9 pc's with only 7 serials, without collisions, and a legal serial per gamer? I heard something about "Floating Profiles?" Can someone explain that to me please?

I have an image of BF2 and it just wont run. It keeps asking for the cd, when the iso is in the drive. Everything is the same from what i can tell. So my question is how do i get mine working and how did you get yours working. Any info would help. I have look on most of the other forum post and it doesnt look like anyone else is having this problem.

Hi everyone =)

I'm pretty new to smart-launch and am learning it as i mess around with it
i don't have a complex set up, just about 2 gaming pc's in a small shop
one problem i just figured out how to fix was wide screen resolution thx to the forums.

Today i have a different issue as it seems that the Client does not want
to run Dead Space, with the game installed and running trough windows
the client seems to be executing the game but no display, just a blank screen.

hi guys. i just want to know if there is anyone here who have this kind of setup. one pc or machine where all the games and applications are installed.

coz when iam installing new games, it takes a lot of time, imaging the game and everything to each pc. i have 50 units and i takes me a lot time to install it.

mybe installing it to a server and mapping the drive or folder might help? i just wondering what are the limitations? speed? lag? how many pc can it serve running

the same application at the same time.

CD Key management

Hey

Just wanna ask how you guys manage your CD keys

I want to use the function CD Key Management, I know how to add cd key and
executable path things but have few things that I want to know:

For COD4 + other games...

- as you might know if you goto options in COD4 there's a way that it shows the CD key that its currently using.
If I setup the ck key management from SL, how can I hide the Cd key or remove (even better) cd key
from the options in COD4.

Just want to know how you guys are managing your cd keys :D
