I sold a customer this package. 5 months later he has 5 hours still on his account but wants to purchase another 25 hour package. One month later his account is locked with 2000 minutes on it. The first 25 hour package he bought still had 5 hours on it. As soon as I sold the new 25 hour package it started to use the time off that package instead of using the remainer of time from the first package first.

Also it locked his account after 6 months from the original purchase, even though a month earlier he had just purchased another package. Why did it not use the first package sold first? Both packages have the same level set. Why did it lock the account even though he had just purchased another 25 hour package a month earlier with a 6 month time limit?

I have noticed this before but it has only become an issue with these larger packages. Why does not SL use the oldest time sold first if the packages have the same imortance set? Instead it bounces around and seems to use them up in any order it wants. Seems like a very bad flaw.

Discount

Hi guys,

Is there any way i can add discount when i'm generating the receipt?

When a customer comes in to play and i'm charging $3.50 per hour, I would like to give this customer a discount of $1.50.

How to i go about doing it? Help needed.

Hey all,

I need to setup a pricing config for my game center, but I'm having some difficulties and hope you can help me. Well, here goes:

My center has 2 floors, the regular floor and the VIP floor. The computers on the regular floor is, oh say, $5 an hour to use, and there's a morning and night discount program, say 20%. Easy config so far, I just set the discounts based on time. The computers on the second floor (VIP floor), however, don't have any discounts whatsoever. So it's $7 all day, every day.

Currently, I have the computers in the 1st floor in the "Regular" group, with 100% price, and the ones in the 2nd floor in the "VIP" group, with 140% price. Here's the problem: If I just use one ID (say, one with "Regular" pricing structure) for each customer, then when he log-in to the 2nd floor computer, he will still be charged $7 an hour, BUT still with the 20% discount, am I right? Well, I don't want this, because the 2nd floor computers should NOT have any discounts, at all.

I then tried making 2 IDs for each customer. One (CustA_Reg) is for the regular floor, with the discount and all and uses the "Regular" pricing structure, and another one (CustA_VIP) for the VIP floor using the "VIP" pricing structure. Well, this is cumbersome, both for the customer because he has to remember 2 IDs and passwords, and also for my employee because he has to add 2 userIDs for each customer.

So here's what I want: One user ID, that allows the customer to play in any computer in both floors. If he plays in the 1st floor computer, he will get the discounts, but he WILL NOT get any discounts when playing in the 2nd floor.

Is there any way to accomplish this with just ONE userID for each customer? If so, how do I setup the pricing config?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Changing customer's time and adding time without having to log out user

Okay here's the scenario:

A customer comes in. When i press pay, cashier opens and account is billed. But the time from these configs doesn't add to time on the account. In the exact same categori of configs I have also 2 other. One is free hour (they get 4th hour free) and the other is 10mins free (breakdowns, updates whatever) These seem to work flawlessly. They pop up when I scan them, and seing there is no price, nothing is billed, and the time adds nicely to the account when finishing pressing the "pay" button. As mentioned they are in same category as the standard 30 and 60mins. The only way these differ is the barcode/title (duh) and the price, 30 and 60mins has prices, whereas the 2 other is just blank zeros. No other apparant difference here.

If I use the "add offer" button, then find these 30 and 60mins from the correct category, and add them with the gui buttons, the time is added nicely to the account, along with the amount/price. What could possibly cause this diff is beyond me. Hoping it's a bug somehow, but not sure. Depending witch window I have open add time/add money/add offer. Scanning these 30 and 60mins barcodes might produce some other weird results.

Scanning say 60mins barcode with add offer window open, it actually registers the 10min free extra time I also have. But in add time/add money, it pops up as the correct one, just without adding the minutes in the offer to the account if finishing the bill.

Anyone else experiencing something similar, or did I fook something else up royally to get this behaviour? :D

Price rise / decrease bug

I have requested a resolution to the problem of price rises and price reductions but the response I have received from SL (via Andy) is that until there are enough people requesting this, it will not be done.

The problem:

When you raise or decrease your standard rate price, ALL previous credit sold will be adjusted to the new rate. If you put your base rate up, the value of everybody’s existing credit will go down. If you put your base rate price down then the value of everybody’s existing credit will go up.

This is because SL takes the amount of minutes on an account and multiplies it by the amount of money used to buy this credit.

Like a lot of business’s our business is heavily ‘season’ orientated and we need to adjust our prices to accommodate our busy and quieter times. At the moment there is no way of resolving this anomaly and every time we raise our prices, we get inundated with complaints as to why the amount of credit they had has gone down.

Will everybody that feels this BUG should be fixed please say so here even if it hasn’t directly affected them because they haven’t changed their price rate.

Thank you
How to setup a pricing structure where price decreases over time

Hi, i have written an FAQ for our new knowledgebase, about how to setup a pricing structure so that the price decreeses, the longer a user is logged on a client.
It can be found at http://smartlaunch.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=68

Hopes that this can be of some help, you are very welcome to write comments here or on the knowledgebase site.

Expiring Membership

Is there anyway currently to make an account part of, say the 'members' user type, and automatically have them removed from the group at the end of a month *if they don't pay of course*. I think its a very good option for my cafe, however I am lost in the pricing system, and need to know if what I want is possible within smartlaunch.

The cost to use my cafe is as follows

0-30 min's £1.00 ( £1 minium charge )

1 hour £1.50

Each extra hour £1.00

so if someone goes on-line for 3 min's its £1 if on for 26 min's its again £1, then the price goes up steadly to £1.50 for the hour. So 45 min's £1.25 and so on. Then after the first hour the price goes to £1.00 per hour so if the user was on for 1 hour 30 mins the cost would be £2.00, is this possible and if so what do I put into the payment options to make this happen.

Also if a user has not got the minium amount ( £1.00 ) say they have only got £0.50 in there account then I need that user to be unable to login and they will have to come and add money to there account. Its kind of reverse compared to the normal prices...how can i set this up?

Also when somebody buys a coffee, i dont want that coming off their time on account, they have to pay for that separatly....again this only affects pre-pay!

Im sure these questions have already been asked or maybe in a FAQ somewhere, but any immediate help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark

How to setup all-day pass?

Currently we use "new open session" for all-day passes, but as you know, PUF are not gonna work this way for users. The data seems to be wider than the field which makes reading it difficult.

regards

PrePaid Ticket Vouchers & Print Layouts

Are there alternative ways to set up how the prepaid tickets are printed?

I know there's the usual "use the receipt printer" way, but i was wondering about printing onto some cheapish business cards which are already perforated.
