Hi everyone,

I'm actually open now, but I ran into an issue last night which I want to avoid. It seems that the old SL install I'm using on the server I bought from the previous owner has a lot of accounts that still have time on them. His store closed down years ago and he collected the money for that time, not me so I want to zero out everyone's account (but keep the accounts) and start fresh.

I can't seem to find a way to do this. I've even looked through the access user table and couldn't figure out where it stores time/money. Anyone know of a way to do this short of removing everyone's account?

Gift Certificates

Since there appears to be no immediate solution to setting up automated Gift Certificates, ive figured out an alternate way of doing it....

Customers Comes in, Buys a Certificate, pays the amount..From SL goto, Account name (Which i created under "Gift Certificate", click, "Add time", Products and offers, Gift Certificates (Which i created with various amounts 10,20, 25, and 50 dollars) click on the appropriate amount...Done deal.........When redeemed by the customer....Open the customers account....credit the customer the certificate amount, close his account....Goto user Account, "Gift certificates", Locate the dollar amount on the Balance sheet, click on it, and delete it, this will balance it out as far as accounting purposes go! Anyone else know of a better way to do the certificates, PLEASE let me know

Monthly report

Hi,

I've just started my internet cafe 4 weeks ago. And ive missed to look in to the financial report thing. I've been trying to get a report for the total income of the last 3 weeks so i can send it to my financial consultan so i can report for my taxes. But i only get a PDF file with the amount of time beeing sold and no actual money statistics. Would be very happy if someone could either tell me the steps or point me in directions since ive tried for a while now and with no success and the time is getting really important since im already 3 days behind with the report. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.

Hi, Im hoping someone can help me out with this, with holidays coming and customers coming into my cafe asking if they can purchase, Gift Certificates, we would like to be able to sell 10.00, 20.00, 50.00 Gift certificates in such a way that when a parent, for example purchases a 20.00 gift Cert we can give a "Prepaid ticket" along with a nicely made up Certificate available to be redeemed upon turn in? how does this work, please help....

Hey all , i would like to thank the developers of this great application for their outstanding hard work they have put to make such a master piece.

I am having problem with pricing as i don't understand : hourly rate, add to bill and loop functions.
it would be great if someone could give me direct instructions on how to set the following prices :

.50 = 30 min
1 = 120 min
2 = 300 min
3 = 480 min
5 = 900 min
10 = 1980 min

I want to withdraw time from an account but its disabled , tried to log in as admin not as an employee and its still the same ( not active )

There is overdue on accounts, instead of forcing the user to log out automatically it just continue with minus value.

Please help as soon as possible , thanks in advance for your efforts.

I have a problem with the prices of my users, I have the following configuration in prices for guests and members.

For almost all assigned at the prices but hey found a user who does not charge properly. Example the half-hour charges at $ 4.00 and $ 9.00 hour when the correct price is $ 6.00 per half hour and $ 10.00 an hour

Adding a Week Pass to the system

Hello everyone,

I'd like to create an offer that would allow a user to have unlimited time during the course of a Monday - Saturday Week, Timing out on noon sunday (as we are not open on sundays). This would allow for the absolutely latest of late night Saturday night playing sessions and still have a comfortable 12 hour window of time (Sunday 12 Noon - Sunday 12 midnight) that we can be sure that no one will be logged in.

They must be able to log in during the week at any point and enjoy the rest of that week only.

The pass ends at 12:00 Noon on Sunday.

Any gurus out there willing to lend a hand to a fellow store owner? I've played with this and can't figure it out. :-(

Pricing problem

Hi i got a pricing problem.
When i choose basic pricing and then i choose 20 kronor (2 EURO) hourly.
when i test this config the price for an hour becomes 25 kronor(2,5 EURO).
why does this happen?
the rest of the fields is set to 0 except the charging intervall wish is set to 10 mins

sl clients disconnects

i dont know if this is part of the new update or i accidentally change some settings.

when my SL server pc was restarted, or even the SL server, all of the clients get disconnected.
one reason i want to turn the server off, coz i want to run the "database optimizer". coz the database file are getting larger and larger.
and some computers are acting strange when it i dont run it for a week.

is their a settings for my clients dont log off when my server accidentally or intentionally shuts down?

I have a problem with the smartlunch the problem is I dont know how to set the price right so when I add 1 min it adds 10 when I 15,30.... rest its ok but when I add 1 min it adds 10 or more.

Hi .. recently changed our pricing from advanced to simple pricing. for some reason the member accounts are resetting the amount of time to zero when the user logs out. previously it would save the users time. any ideas ?

at our cafe we have normal computers, and we got vip computers.
the normal computers are 20.- hour, and vip is 30.-.
so to do this, we set the vip to 150% pricing.
but now comes the tricky part.
we have a member ship, where they pay 10.- on normals, and 20.- in the vip. but with the current setup, that only gives 15.- in the vip, due to the 150%.
so is there a way to set it up, so vip member price is 20.-?.
right now i add an offer for 5.- for every hour they spend in the vip room. but thats not really a valid solution, unless it can be automated.

Hi, I currently have an offer setup for my customers where they pay $11 and get 5 hours as well as a free product of up to $3.00 value. But I can't seem to find how to set this up in smartlaunch.

I have found where to add an offer in the Products/Offers section of the server, but that only does half of what I want (it does the 5 hours for $11 part) but when I add a product included in the offer I can only choose from a specific product and not $3.00 of value.

All Day Offer

I would like to set up an All Day offer that the customer will be able to use from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. next day (our closing time) and which he/she cannot use next day (I am saying this because I already have a price "5 Hours Prepaid" in which we create user and we choose add time 5 hours and the customers can use it whenever he wants. Here is the scenario i would like to put in place:

1. Existing customer (member) comes into store and approaches my vending machine.
2. He puts money in said machine and gets a prepaid time code.
3. Customer then turns on computer, and at the log in screen inputs the time code into his account.

Is this scenario currently possible?

There is an issue with the pricing system that has been giving me problems for a long time now.

I need to to setup a price structure that:
- It will be 2.00 euro per hour
- After 5 hours I need the price to remain at 10 euro.
- I do not want to reduce the hourly rate every hour.

eg.
1 hour = 2 euro
2 hours = 4 euro
3 hours = 6 euro
...
5 hours = 10 euro
6 hours = 10 euro
7 hours = 10 euro
...

Can someone suggest something on that ?

Hi All,
I'm evaluating SmartLaunch for use in a NetCafe, one question my customer has asked is, can the software put session limits inplace, like limiting a user to be logged in for 60 minutes maximum, because this net cafe will be busy and they want to give everyone the chance at using the internet. We don't want to limit the amount of credit available.

Also from a wireless point of view, has any one had any luck putting a free radius server connected to the mysql server back end of SmartLaunch?

I have 2 types of users VIP and GUESTS

VIP = $3 per hour
GUESTS = $4 per hour

I want to set:
1. unlimited time use for vip at $3 per hour and,
2. unlimited time use for vip at $4 per hour

this means, they can set their own time / they can log out anytime they want and SL will automatically compute for their time used.

Hi guys,

Is there any way i can add discount when i'm generating the receipt?

When a customer comes in to play and i'm charging $3.50 per hour, I would like to give this customer a discount of $1.50.

How to i go about doing it? Its kinda like a mall promo. But i would like to retain the original pricing of $3.50 and an inputed line of discount of $1.50 and the final cost of $2.00 to be shown in the receipt.

i have an automated tickets ditributor and it works good... but is not legal here in italy...
i need to store a document for each user as italian laws provide...

How to do ME Bottle Deposit

In Maine we have this wonderful thing called bottle deposit. Think of it like a tax only it is a flat 5 cent charge to most bottled beverages that you must pay at the point of sale. I want to able to track how much bottle deposit is paid by customers so I can reconcile it, but the VAT/TAX function only allows you to do a % not a flat rate. Any ideas on a work around or if this is something that could be added through a patch?

Those unfamiliar with bottle deposit it is basically an incentive system to promote recycling, and for the state to generate revenue. You pay the bottle deposit and then must take the bottle to a redemption center to get your nickle back. Most simply regard it as another tax, also the rate varies on depending on the type of bottled beverage.

Reset Time after User has Logged Out

Hello

I have created two different kinds of members:

Members - add time and keep the time when next logged in (works fine)

Non Members - add time and remove time when log out

I have ticked Automatically Reset Prepaid Account on the non members settings but it still keeps the time. Does anyone know where I'm going wrong?

So whenever they reach an amount of money we give them 1 free hour. for example lets say that my offer says "If you paid a total 8 dollars you will get 1 free hour. I'm in twist as i have to setup price for my cafe,
Please help me to setup proper time slot & money.

0 mins to 30 mins -> charge: 8
30 mins to 60 mins -> charge: 15

Now when customer rents computer for 30 mins and after few mins asks extension by more 30 mins (In Pay & Play Later) software calculates 8 (30mins) + 8 (30mins) = 16 where as for 1 hour we charge 15 only.

how do i setup above charges as it will be error free in SM server?

Time pachages used incorrectly

I have 25 hour packages that are set to expire after 6 months. I sold a customer this package. 5 months later he has 5 hours still on his account but wants to purchase another 25 hour package. One month later his account is locked with 2000 minutes on it. The first 25 hour package he bought still had 5 hours on it. As soon as I sold the new 25 hour package it started to use the time off that package instead of using the remainer of time from the first package first.

Also it locked his account after 6 months from the original purchase, even though a month earlier he had just purchased another package. Why did it not use the first package sold first? Both packages have the same level set. Why did it lock the account even though he had just purchased another 25 hour package a month earlier with a 6 month time limit?

I have noticed this before but it has only become an issue with these larger packages. Why does not SL use the oldest time sold first if the packages have the same imortance set? Instead it bounces around and seems to use them up in any order it wants. Seems like a very bad flaw.

How do i set up prices for a specific days in a year?

Just wanted clarification on the "Time of Purchase" option for the price calculation method. Does that mean if someone buys an hour, it is used up 1 hr from the time of purchase even if they only login for 30 minutes then come back 2 hrs later expecting another 30 minutes left on their account, but it isn't there? Nothing in the manual about this. TY.
