I've bought 5 cd keys and they can not be used for steam :-(

Hi guys does anyone know how to get Smartlaunch to sign into Steam but load the game menu/library only and pop up on screen? At the moment it will log in and auto runs the game, this is ok on single game accounts but the Valve Cyber Cafe accounts have many games.

The best I've managed is getting the Steam icon next to clock and users having to right click on that and select library.

Well steam is great, all hail steam :s

But Origin, by EA is interesting. To Play battlefield 3, you have to sign in origin (how via smartlaunch???) then launch battlefield 3, which just opens a website (user can view key and delete files etc???)

FYI, have you played it yet? all runs from a bloody website with plugins to launch games. feel like EA just gave lan centers the finger...

Long story short i dont want my customers having access to origin at all, we have it for other games but has never needed to be signed in to play the games. My customers feel they can do what ever they want and download crap. Managing over 80 machines is no easy feat.

Hi Again,

I'm having some issues with Steam - again :( It's running beautifully with my Cafe accounts, but now I've got multiple accounts for Skyrim and MW3, it's not behaving on exit. It won't shut down after someone closes the game and so takes a license and makes the SL client freeze for about 10 - 30 seconds.

Anyone know of a fix? I taskkill all origin and steam processes before a game is launched and I would like to run the same batch file AFTER they have closed the game but it won't work.

Hey guys, these forums have been a great source of info for me over the years. I see that many people are struggling with bf3 and I reckon I've worked out a pretty good system, so I'm going to give something back and share it all with you.

Here is a step-by-step guide to setup bf3/origin license management and termination under smartlaunch. This system will auto-login an origin account, launch bf3, monitor the bf3 process, close origin and battlelog when the user says they are finished playing, and free the license up in your SL server.

Please note that I am a novice coder and there is certain to be room for improvement in my autoit script, so any comments/improvements are more than welcome.

For this to work you will need Autoitv3. My autoit script assumes that you are using firefox as your default browser.

The basic idea is that we use a batch file to handle license management (basically identical to the coh solution) and an autoit script that launches bf3 and then monitors the bf3 process. When the bf3 process ends the script opens a messagebox that asks the user if they are finished playing. If they answer 'no' the script loops back and watches the bf3 process again, so that the user can change servers and stuff without having to reload Origin each time. If they answer 'yes' then the script kills the Origin process, closes the battlelog browser tab, and deletes their login info. At this point the autoit executable ends and SL frees up the license.

Enough explanation, here's the goods. Note that [b]BOLDED UPPERCASE[/b] stuff will need to be changed to reflect your cafe environment.

[b]How to set up bf3/origin for your cafe[/b]

1. Enable 'view hidden files' via control panel->folders.

2. Run Origin and log in your first account, making sure to tick "remember me".

3. Once logged in to Origin, go to Origin options (the little cog icon)->settings and untick "automatically keep my game up to date". I also untick "enable cloud storage for all supported games", but I really don't know whether it causes any problems if left it on (I disable steam sync generally too, as it has caused me grief in the past).

4. Exit origin via settings->exit (DO NOT log out, as this will clear the username/password info, make sure you just exit).

5. Navigate to c:\users\[%username%\appdata\roaming\origin\ and rename the settings.xml file contained within to "1.xml". This file stores the username and password for the account and will be used for the license management side of things.

6. Repeat steps 2-5 for your each of your house accounts, renaming the settings.xml file each time to "2", "3", "4" etc, up to the number of house accounts that you have. When you are done, you will have a different settings.xml file for each of your house accounts, each with a different number as their name.

7. Copy all the .xml files that you have created in this way to your server, NAS or whatever shared network location you store this sort of stuff.

8. Create a batch file to copy the settings files to the client pcs and save it in the same place you are putting your .xml files. For my cafe the batch looks like this:

9. Create an SL license management entry with type "executable" and argument "%license%". Point it at the location where you store the batch file you just created.

10. Add your keys to the lm entry you just made. The keys are type 'string' and are simply named 1, 2, 3 etc.

11. Create an autoit script with the following lines. Remember to edit it to reflect the location of your bf3/origin games folder and/or browser preference!

12. Save your script (I called mine 'bf3kill'), right click on it -> compile. This will create a .exe file with the name you just chose (eg 'bf3kill.exe'). Put this exe in the same place as your .xml files and batch file.

13. For your SL bf3 application entry, simply point the executable at this exe and point the license management at your bf3 lm entry you made in step 9.

That's it!

I've got to bail from work now but I'll add another post with some suggestions for improvement etc.

iI have 10 computers and i have steam on all of them and i have counter strike saurce on them all

but when i lock in in the morning every one of them åbens and are ready to play but if i lock on out of smartlaunc to the front of smart launche

and then go in again it askes my to install counter strike sauce but i have it on why ???

my counter sauce also wants to updates all the time even thogh i have just updated

hey guys . well ive taken from these forums several scripts and suggestions, heres what ive done to modify my scripts to suit our customer base....we have customers that want to play there own personal BF3 accounts, problem is, the text dialogue box doesnt clear because evidentally the "Settings.xml" file kkeeps getting copied...so heres what ive come up with to put origin in SL Server....

the Filedelete commond keeps deleting the Settings.xml file so when origin user account box pops up, its blank everytime, so my customers with personsl accounts can play too

When I start Origin, SL writes: licensing mode, then opens the window, where are the KEY, after a long time like 30 seconds, starts origin.
But the login credentials are not copied to "C: \ Users \ game \ AppData \ Roaming \ Origin"
Confirmation of this, I deleted the file "settings" and then I started Origin window "user name and password" empty.
Any help is well accepted)))

Hi,

I've bought 6 licenses of complete steam GTA pack, and when i try to install it i can only install it on 6x5=30 computers. The SecureROM is hardware limited to activate GTA on 5 computers each, wtf ??? so i need to buy at least 12 licenses to be able to activate on 60 computers? Is there a way around this? i still want to play it on steam since its very easy to play multiplayer, invite friends etc? This is absurd, i also bought 4 copies of FABLE III Steam game, and same here, SecureROM?? How do you guys solve this?

Battlefield 3 / Origin problems when switching accounts.

Battlefield 3 runs fine after Iv'e completed installation but when I log out of origin and switch to another house account battlefield seems to become corrupted. Origin will say BF3 is not installed and prompts me to starts downloading a 50mb~ file for BF3. After that BF3 will show up as "Ready to Install" but nothing happens when I click that button. It's just stuck on an endless loop. Iv'e also tried using a pre-release version of origin with the same issue. I'm also having the same problem on the other machines.

I am not running BF3 under SL. I am running it under admin mode on a windows 7 machine.

Any help is appreciated

In order to release the license for Origin and BF3, Origin needs to be closed after the customer quits playing. Since Origin just keeps on running in the background, just like Steam, I have written a simple batch file that runs every time a customer launches any game.

It effectively kills Steam and Origin when the customer starts another game.

Can anyone help me with above? how i should implement this into smartlaunch, so the script launches when ever a user clicks another game? now i get the error that a previous game is already running when i try to put it in startup bat.....

Since the cafe accounts from steam works with -quit, i stick with the quit command for thoose. But for example i have Fear 3 from steam aswell, ive been trying to set up the solution you posted. But where do i put e .bat file, appropiate for it to launch whenever a user press a new game in smartlaunch? there is only "startup bat" and termination script in smartlaunch.

Ive tried to put it in startup, and then in termination and then in both locations but it wont close. Do i need to create a steamlauncher for every game as ive seen on the forum? isnt there a simple way to just let smartlaunch run a specific .bat file when a user launchs any new titles from the smartlaunch menu ? because taskkill steam.exe is very simple and should be easy to use as you described above

We want to create a few house accounts for this game, Age of empires online uses the same system which is
Windows Live version of these games.

I find no info on how to set this up, and I cant locate the cd keys location.
I did find out bulletstorm is available on steam and guessed this is why, its easy to set up on steam but not on the windows live version.

Hello,

yesterday I did lots of changes to my computers, new PCs, parts, windows install... I noticed that there was a Steam Update too (released Nov. 1st). The other big change I did was to install Steam in D:\ on the clients PCs and I also created a new Computer group in SL.

My problem now is that SL or Steam is not launching any of my Steam games anymore, it only logs in the Steam account and Steam stays minimized and nothing else happens.

Maybe I forgot to do something IDK... Any help?

Do you know how can i manage licences for this game? do you know another form of license management for this game?

I currently have 8 legitimate licenses of CoH and CoH:OF. I have over 100 client PC's deployed. I would greatly appreciate any information you might have into how to utilize license management for CoH and CoH:OF using Smartlaunch. I am not interested in using hacks, cracks or anything like this.

I want to use legitimate methods to run the game using the license management modules of Smartlaunch. If you could provide a step-by-step approach that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for my broken English.
I have a problem with the licensing of certain games.
I used batch files as described in the manual Smartlaunch but unfortunately it does not work.
I created the following batch file:

and license management, I followed the example by creating the license below:

Name: batch license
Type: Executable
Start in: d: \ license.bat
Parameters:%% license
and a key that I have named ABCD

I've obviously been putting in applications to assign that license to a game

At launch the game under Smartlaunch, I have the batch file that runs and the game starts. The problem is that it works for multiple PCs at the same time when it should be only one pc that can run the game

Where is the problem?

im trying to create different group of steam accounts for example

Steam VCP with say 20 licences, these i want to be dynamically assigned
but Steam Non VCP, I want to create as many steam accounts as i have PC's and add to them the good free games and dirt3 which is a freebie with the graphic card
now for the non vcp group id like for the same computer to get the same account everytime to avoid the security mechanism of steam which requires validation code everytime a new hardware is used for an account

does SL support this out of the box or i need to work batches and stuff as some other topic suggested

i was thinking of just ticking the save user/pass in the steam app and hope when steam vcp app launches it logs existing user out and log in dynamically and upon exist does not remove the save user password tick

But if a user tries to launch the game through smartlaunch steam does not open, I can't understand why. Can anyone give me any assistance for how you configure smartlaunch to make it work? I purchased it through steam which I guess may be part of the problem.

I bought this for some customers and they are waiting to use it so any help would be great.

Has anyone figured out how to create a license management for AC Brotherhood? It is a double log-in with Steam login and Ubisoft login required (assuming). Perhaps the Ubisoft launcher saves the login information in a file when you check off "remember me", for the password. I'm assuming AutoIt could do it but I am not proficient at creating a script for it. The delay would be difficult to estimate because of Steam load times being hard to predict. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am currently having in to reformat 42 computers due to viruses .
Im going to start with one computer ,install everything then ghost the hard drive image over all other pcs.
I have currently installed ,updated and configured all games
Installed and configured all programs -IE, Vent, mIRC, Msn, Xfire, Driveshield, punkbuster, Skype, Winrar, rivatuner, Speedfan, Smartlaunch, Avira(Anti vir)and Vnc.
I have untill friday to start ghosting so these harddrive must be 100% .
Does anyone have any ideas as to what would make these harddrives perfect ?Any input is greatly appreciated .

Its works good but sometimes when visitors are in game, they suddenly logs out because someone else logged in on other pc...?

We have a cybercafe, but we are experiencing terrible headaches regarding a few Steam games being opened through the Smartlaunch menu, such as CS:Source and HL2:Deathmatch... The licensing information has been properly inputted, as it works for all our other games. In fact, if a user launches Steam and opens any game independently it'll work 100% of the time, which leads us to believe the problem has to do with Smartlaunch. The settings are as follows:

Application path: C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe
Arguments: -applaunch 240 (for CS:Source at least)
Working Directory: C:\Program Files\Steam\

The first PC will open the games in question absolutely fine, but the second will ALWAYS give this "Maximum users reached: Please try again later" error on the bottom of the Smartlaunch screen right after it says "loading application"

We have all the necessary Steam ports open.

These games are popular and I hope we can get them working for our customers and for the sake of our business. I thank anybody who comes up with any help ahead of time.

i tried HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call of Duty WAW\codkey

and also HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty WAW\codkey

it work fine on xp anyone know how to solve this

Setup a license management same way as posted here

Edit the game path in config.ini to point to the installation directory

This an executable that use reversed AutorunGui.dll from Battle For Middle Earth Setup disk.
Cd Key directly encrypted and game2.dat is placed in your game installation directory.

For people using the old setup only thing must be done is to swap the executables and you no longer need load.exe from old setup.
