SL just fucked us over and they dont care, SL your reply to my email sucked, some standard template you probably have that you send to everyone.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My question is can i get some help from you guys about how I can migrate from smartlaunch. firstly i would like to transfer all of our customers existing credit to a spreadsheet at least. so that we can credit them properly . there are several other questions id like help with but this is the most urgent as i can not risk losing my customers or ruing my reputation. we need to transfer both time and money. we found some figures in the user database and the log table but im not sure if they take into account the deals, time and money each user has in their account. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;to smartlaunch &lt;br&gt;I have had nothing but headaches because of you. We knew that our message would not receive a warm welcome, but some of the things you are accusing us for still make us really sad.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;Here are some of the things we are hearing from many of you:&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;- “This cannot be legal as we have BOUGHT the licenses. You cannot charge for the same product twice.”&lt;br&gt;- “You are only doing this to make a lot of quick profit”&lt;br&gt;- “I recently bought SL from a former owner and now I have to pay again. BLACKMAIL”&lt;br&gt;- “Your new subscription is way too expensive – most of your competitors are free”&lt;br&gt;- “Either make the software free or we will crack it”&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Let me give you our view on each of them here:&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;[u]This cannot be legal as we have BOUGHT the licenses[/u]&lt;br&gt;Smartlaunch Systems A/S which you have all acquired your licenses from has closed down as a result of bankruptcy. Smartlaunch was Michael’s and my first start-up, which we spent more than five years building. As result we feel quite emotional attached to it – believe it or not. &lt;br&gt;When we heard about the situation with Smartlaunch, we decided to contact the old owners and acquire the software IP (not the customers, not the contracts, not company - only the software IP). As there were no other buyers, the likely result had we not bought the IP, would have been that all of you would have been running without Smartlaunch today. It is correct that all of you legally bought your licenses from Smartlaunch A/S, but that has legally nothing to do with Smartlaunch as it exist today. We acquired the Smartlaunch software with our own money and we have financed the last half year with our own money. We have spent our money on new developers, supporters, test computers, software licenses, office rent etc. &lt;br&gt;As the sale of new licenses are not exactly exploding these days, it does not require great math skills to figure out this calculation does not add up. The only thing we could think of was to start charging money for the software we are supporting (we actually still answer more than 100 support tickets per day, free of charge, and quite a few of you have upgraded to version 4.5 for free). It is important for us that you all understand that we have not caused this situation. The company we left in 2007 it was actually doing pretty okay. The subscription model is simply the only solution we can think of that can turn SL into a self-sustaining company again. We are willing to listen if any of you can come up with a better solution.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;[u]You are only doing this to make a quick profit[/u]&lt;br&gt;Investing in software for the gaming center industry is probably the worst bet possible if you want to make a quick profit. Combine a shrinking market primarily consisting of customers struggling to pay their bills with the fact that 3 out 4 customers are using pirated software. Not exactly my definition of a cash cow. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;[u]I recently bought SL from a former owner and now I have to pay again[/u]&lt;br&gt;A large second-hand market for old licenses was actually one of the reasons Smartlaunch A/S had to close down. Legally speaking this is actually also a breach of the old “Terms of Sale” to resell already bought licenses – exactly like it is for most other software products out there.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;[u]Your new subscription is way too expensive[/u]&lt;br&gt;It is hard to compete on price with free software and this has never been the intention with Smartlaunch. There are a bunch of alternatives to Smartlaunch out there – CyberCafePro, EasyCafe, HandyCafe and Antamedia just to name a few. &lt;br&gt;If you decide to switch to one of these companies, we just hope we can invite you back at some point in the future, as we still believe Smartlaunch is the best product on the market. &lt;br&gt;And we honestly don’t think Smartlaunch is expensive. Actually, we think the price is quite fair if you compare it to almost any other B2B software out there (e.g. Zendesk, Thinkcell or Dropbox enterprise). &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;[u]Either make the software free or we will crack it[/u]&lt;br&gt;Smartlaunch has already been cracked and I am sure anyone can find the file if they do a little research (I even think we have a helpful customer who posted a link in our forum). According to our data we have more than 5000 customers running a cracked version of the software as of today. Again one of reasons why Smartlaunch A/S had to close down. We can’t say we encourage this approach but we can’t do much if this is what you want to do.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt;Bottom line; We are not doing this to screw any of you or to make a quick profit. We are doing it because we see it as the only way we can make the company survive. We truly appreciate it, and trust me when I say that it is not easy for us as well to have to do this.&lt;br&gt;To see Smartlaunch go bankrupt and having to close down all the servers, support and continue to not improve the software  was simply not something Kasper and I ever wanted to have happen when we started Smartlaunch many many years ago.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;As you probably know, Kasper and I left the company several years ago now, and I completely agree that upgrades and support over the past years while we have not been involved with the business has been at an absolute minimum - or maybe even below that. &lt;br&gt;When Kasper and I recently heard about the situation in Smartlaunch, we although made the decision to re-join to save the business and rebuild it.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;You may not have noticed it, but we did re-join Smartlaunch a few months ago to start re-build the business from the ground up. Most of the work we've done so far have been to move all development and supports efforts to Indonesia to cut all development costs to a minimum - this process is still undergoing, but we are getting there fast. Besides that we've done a long list of organizational improvements and cost cutting.&lt;br&gt;Besides that, we urgently pushed out the Smartlaunch 4.5 update with many critical updates, fixes and improvements - this was also part of the effort we did.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I would like to emphasize that all of the work we do on Smartlaunch these day is free. We don't see a single dime.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We in fact loose money every month, and that is why we had to find a way to bring all the Smartlaunch cafes around the world together to help us rebuild the business and ensure that we can continue to provide a better level of support, better and more frequent updates, and hopefully in the future new awesome features and upgrades.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We fully realize that some cafes will have to jump off and leave Smartlaunch - however we hope and urge as many of you to help us and join us all in the effort to continue to build the absolute best and most feature-rich gaming and internet cafe software in the world.&lt;br&gt;What you have seen with SL 4.5 is just the early beginning, and our new skilled development team is rapidly getting better and better every day.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Finally, I would like to thank all of you who have already today upgraded to our new pricing plan - we truly appreciate your support which is what will help make Smartlaunch the absolute best software which we all want it to be!&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Sorry to those who decide to leave us, I hope to see you again in the future.</description><pubDate>Thu, 05 Jan 2012 19:28:17 GMT</pubDate><dc:creator>Michael [SL]</dc:creator></item><item><title>Database downgrade from 4.5 to 4.1</title><link>http://forum.smartlaunch.net/Topic27592-13-1.aspx</link><description>Hey guys, you don't need to be geniuses to get your version 4.5 Smartlaunch database to work on the 4.1 cracked version.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I got my db from the updated 4.5 version to work on the cracked version and its absolutely simple and easy to do.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If you migrate from the 4.5 version db and try to use it on version 4.1 your Server gets stuck at 'initializing listener' yes?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Simple solution - all you need to do is have Microsoft Access installed and you will be good to go.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Now make a backup before you tinker with your db - in case you mess it up somehow.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;First, you open the db using Microsoft Access&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Open the Computers table and in that table, proceed to delete the following columns -&lt;br&gt;IPv6 and DisklessIP&lt;br&gt;- There is another column, IPv4, rename that column to IP.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;After that, save your database, if you want you may also want to compact and repair it and you are good to go. -&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This should be enough to get your 4.1 installation working working with your 4.5 db.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There are are more tables and fields that the StinkLounge team has added to the 4.5 db, if you feel up to the task, here's the list&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Delete the FinancialReceipts table&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In the Offers table, delete the following columns -&gt;&lt;br&gt;ExpiresAtLogout , ExpiresAtSpecificDate ,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Delete the PrepaidCards_Cards table&lt;br&gt;Delete the PrepaidCards_Categories table&lt;br&gt;Delete the PrepaidCards_Codes table&lt;br&gt;Delete the PrepaidCards_Products&lt;br&gt;Delete the PrepaidCards_Providers&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In the Products table delete the column CardProductID&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In the Usergroups table, delete the following columns&lt;br&gt;Deleted&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupAfterUsergroupID&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupAfterMinutesUsed&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupAfterMoneyUsed&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupBackLessMoneyThen&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupBackLessMinutesThen&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupBackAfterMinutesUsed&lt;br&gt;ChangeUsergroupBackUsergroupID&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;and then in the Users table, before we get to deleting, they edited the username field from maximum characters of 20 to 50, so in Access 2007, you open the Users table using Design View, (right click the Users table and select design view) click username. Underneath u will see a grey tab Labeled General - and in there Field Size with a value of 50, go in there and change it from 50 back to 20. You can go click save in the quick access toolbar, then below the Office button, change the view back to Datasheet View.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;then you may continue -&gt;in the Users table delete the following column/fields&lt;br&gt;Deleted&lt;br&gt;SLConnectID&lt;br&gt;MinutesSpentInUsergroup&lt;br&gt;MoneySpentInUsergroup&lt;br&gt;SLGUID&lt;br&gt;SLGUEmailStatus&lt;br&gt;SLGUMobilePhoneStatus&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;and that's all the deleting you need to do, to restore your version 4.5 db to a 4.1 usable database.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In case you're wondering, this info came from a side by side db comparison - old vs new so its entirely safe -as long as you can play around with Access or any other .mdb editing tool.
