Ok, I looked into this, and here is what I found out.

The "Login as Admin", has never been available for computers that has had an active user logged in. Or at least haven't been available since we moved to Subversion, and that was about 1½-2 years ago.

The "Force Client Update" was disabled in a recent update for machines with a user logged in.
The reason we did that, was that if the user had any games or applications running when forcing the update, then when the client process is restarted it forgets about those applications, so when the user finally logs out, the applications just keep running in the background.

Sry, off topic.
Hey O_o you guys are using a SVN repository... Sweet
I know of a few opensource programs that use SVN, with one of them I was able to stay update and compile the program
myself ^^.

Have you tried clicking the "Login As Admin" option on a machine where a user is already logged in?
What happens when you do?

Some cafés have set their machines to reboot or turn off when a user is logged out, and this of course prevents the admin-user from being logged in.

I know it's not the most optimal way to do it, but it is the way it was chosen to be implemented, and it would involve a LOT of work to change this.
All I can say is, that this isn't a mistake that we have made in version 5

Ummm... we have ours to turn off on logoff but it stays on when using login as admin with someone already logged in (until this patch)... and yes it has absolutely been enabled until the recent patch, even with someone logged in.

The "force client update" is kinda important since we often have clients login but then the menu bar is blank so we must force client update, yet they are already logged in.  We've been telling them to just use CTRL ALT DEL and logoff in the meantime though.  I suppose the more crucial issue is getting the damn menu bars working consistently.  GRRRR...

Yes,
it has worked perfectly in the past.

Will we get that functionality back? Or is it lost forever?
(since we have proven that it existed )

with kind regards,

Stefan
