| Yep BoZack I think we may have selected the wrong approach in marketing the availability of Fusion Stats.
Also it was really good talking to you over the last week or so and I'm really looking forward to working with you!

| I spoke with Chris on the phone as well the other day, he's a good guy and the product has potential. Along with the other things they have
I brought up with him if their was a way to make it so only a selected usergroup had access, then i could see it being $1(no euro button ;-]) per user, because that charge goes directly to the customer for the access.
I think that would help alleviate the perception of cost to everyone.
still its a fabulous product in my opinion with a good ROI |

so you think the point is how to transfer the cost to someone else? and not to discuss if this cost is justified and realistic?
(nice 1st post though :p )

| yeah i noticed that when i posted, i thought i've posted on these forums before, i registered i think in 2006 lol.
i think its justifiable to the customer if presented that way, why would they not want to pay 1-5 euros usd whatev to be ranked and stated that way across multiple platforms.
it seems justifiable to me if i can control the amount of users that can use stats based on usergroup.
I have 4000+ members with 1500 active over the past 3 months so i cant see paying that much for a product for everyone, but if it was for just people that used it, im game. |

| euphnet did something similar with a valve TAX per month, i thought it was ridiculous, because the games shouldnt cost extra.
but in this setting its a special service, and i see no reason why that wouldn't be justifiable. |

| hellenica (10-09-2008) SL does not suck. SL customer support in Denmark sucks. But SL in Greece kicks *** and I depend on them for all my tech support. As for a new cafe software... I use SL with Fusion and I have seen definite benefits. The software pays for itself, and it changes the way you do business.
So instead of asking Chris to design a new SL, ask for more Fusion functionality and become a paying customer so they can further invest in the product line. Fusion is the future of Gaming Centers. 2 years from now I would be surprised if 2/3 of SL customers are NOT on Fusion.

Hi Panos.
I agree with you that for the past some time our support has been subpar.
This has been duo to a lot of various reasons.
We have had some internal changes, and have spend a lot of time and resources on developing the upcomming 5.0 version of Smartlaunch.
Knowing this is no exuse of how hard it has been to get in touch with us for some time, we are working hard on making up for that and boosting our support.
However I would like you to note that the Smartlaunch Team is not ignoring your request and ideas, and that we are very interested in your own ideas to further improve Smartlaunch.
We have done some reworking of our internal support system, and we are working on making a more complete support solution.
We will also increese our efforts on keeping you all more up to date on what is happening from our site and what to expect.

| Henrik,
things are definitely getting better, but I honestly believe that we need a clearer picture as to what 5.0 brings to the table. From what I can see SL has made some bad decisions in the past, but is making some great decisions in the present.
I have said this before and I will re-iterate. My business model is based on three pieces of software:
1. Smart Launch
2. Fusion
3. World of Warcraft
I utilize other softwares and games, but none are "mission critical" like these three are. I would strongly suggest that the feature set of 5.0 be made public way in advance of the launch, so that you can receive feedback from gaming center owners prior to release.
And I would also suggest a closed beta test prior to release, maybe a 2-month trial to iron out the bugs and smoothen out the form and function.
Other than my already mentioned hold ups, I am a huge SL fan, an optimist about the platform as a whole and committed to helping out anyway I can the community.
Kind Regards,
Panos
