| I don't know a thing about ghosting, so before I get started, I wanted to ask, what might be, an obvious question: Is it possible to ghost a partition for just games that is separate from the partition with Windows on it? For example:
Boot, Windows - C:\
Games - D:\
Considering that games will put things like CD keys, etc. in the Windows registry, which I assume lies on the C:\ drive by default, will ghosting a model computer's game partition work on target computers that only have Windows installed (no game changes to their registry)?

| | I can't beleive after all this time no one has bothered to reply to a lot of these post for help. With Ghost you are able to select weather you want to clone a partition or a drive eg if you have drive 1 that is 200gig and partitioned to C 80gig and d 120 gig you can select partition d to clone which would only do D drive or drive 1 which would do both partitions. The only trouble with having our game on a seperate drive is when it comes to making an image we still need the registry files that are stored on C so it is easier and safer to clone/backup the whole drive not just the games. |

| | hmm gizmo.....now thats something the owner and myself are having fun with at the cafe I work at. Some times it works, sometimes it doesn't (get a you are connected to gizmo but the inside bit is blank). As I am still learning about SL (as the owner likes to do all the programing and setting up himself) I don't know much about the server side of things only the admin part where you add money or time thats why I joined this forum to learn more. Got a nice test server and client set up at work but i'm fiddling with the windows 2003 server and hotspot atm...once I get it doing what I want I will start a SL admin and client and start to learn the program side as well. |

| | In the smartlaunch menu we have 3 types of games for example {L} COD4, {R} COD4 and {G} COD4. with L = Local, R = Remote and G = Gizmo. The first 2 always work. The last one is suppose to load Gizmo up at the game info page sometimes it loads up the COD4 info and allows you to download it to that computer (if not already installed) or to play the game but most of the time it just is blank. I'm pretty sure the boss is working on fixing it but I am looking forward to having play with it soon as well, as the Info page with being able to add Cover pics, ratings ect on it is sweet. So is the file transfer setup. |
